Soreli Lemus - Creator of Mush Punk Shop
Hi! I'm Soreli, the artist behind Mush Punk Shop. I grew up in the Inland Empire of California, and let's just say... there wasn't much to do. Art became my escape, my way of passing the time. Whether it was drawing, painting, music, photography, theatre, or even acting on TV – I immersed myself in all forms of creativity. Throughout my childhood and even now, art has always been my gateway to expression and self-discovery.
Despite its imperfections, I’ve always felt confident in my art, and that confidence pushed me to keep creating. But in 2019, I hit a tough patch. I lost my best friend, whom I’d shared many interests and artistic moments with. The grief I felt was overwhelming, and I fell into a deep depression. For almost two and a half years, I stopped doing art altogether.
In July 2022, after facing that difficult time, I found my way back to creativity. That’s when I launched Mush Punk Shop, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The idea was sparked by meeting a couple at a backyard party who were selling their creations. They had a small table, and I thought, “Could I do that? Could I start in a backyard like this?” And sure enough, that’s how Mush Punk Shop began. I started by selling just my art, and eventually added sculptures and jewelry. Since then, my pop-up shop has grown, and I'm excited to see where it goes next.
I still vend at backyard shows on weekends occasionally because, at the end of the day, I love the fun of it all. You can always book me as a vendor for your event!
I’m still young and have so much ahead of me. I’m grateful for where I am today and excited for what the future holds.
